OK. The system is upgraded … once again. But this time it took as much trouble as Windows. Something went wrong and I had to erase everything from hard drive. Nice. Luckily I had made backups. But … Fuck. I hate configure computers.
And I have to admit that this new version of Mac OS X looks pretty, but it doesn’t work. Piece of shit.

What might be the things that make it a POS? And what kind of upgrades were you craving for? I’m holding off on upgrading for a while, but I’d be interested to hear what exactly are the pros and cons of Leopard.

I stumbled on this blog post on OS X Factor: http://osxfactor.com/2007/10/27/leopard-install-fails-when-ape-is-installed/
Did you have the Unsanity’s Application Enhancer installed? I thought I couldn’t wait updating to Leopard but after reading your post I am getting a little nervous about it.

Elisa,
Lot of eye candy that will cause some application run extremely slowly. I have a iMac G5. I don’t know is there same problems with Inter Macs also.
Kari,
Yep. I had a Application Enhancer.

G5 is slow, don’t expect it to be a Ferrari. My Intel Core Duo is working fine with Leopard. Actually a lot better than with Tiger. Upgrade install is always risky so I did a clean install and restored everything from backups. So far there has been no big problems.
And what comes to Application Enhancer, it will kill my system completely. I recommend to stay away from it if you like to avoid problems.
Of course you could always switch to Vista :)
